Cadets (Calvinist Cadet Corps)

Special Events

There are a number of special events during the season including...

  • Gym night is held at the Holland Marsh District Christian school . The cadets get a chance to stretch those muscles and burn off some energy.
  • Winter Sports Day is hosted by clubs from various churches, weather permitting. Besides sports, cadets also demonstrate skills such as axemenship, fire-building and shelter erection.
  • Kub Kar race night at the church gives the cadets to show off their creations and vie for the title of fastest car.
  • Cadet-A-Rama is hosted by clubs from various churches. Besides participating in various competitions the cadets display the crafts and badge work that they completed during the season. Prizes and trophies are awarded.
  • Weekend Campout is spent at a park a reasonable distance away such as Balsam Lake or Elora Gorge. It’s the highlight event of the season. The cadets learn skills needed to survive outdoors. They even manage to survive their own cooking!
